King and Whateley’s top four seeds after Round 2, 2023

2023-03-27T11:19+11:00

David King and Gerard Whateley have named their top four seeds following Round 2 of the 2023 AFL season.

King and Whateley will each rank four teams they have the most confidence in going forward on a weekly basis throughout the year.

The seedings will be updated as the season goes on via SEN’s Whateley.

See their seedings below:

KING

1. Collingwood

“If they keep on doing what they’re doing, Collingwood, there’ll be a little gap again.

“They're miles in front of the rest.

“Get on now while you can, Gerard.”

2. Sydney

“Sydney for me.

“I want to see them against a good side, but what they’re doing at the moment is pretty special.”

3. Melbourne

“I just think sometimes when you lose your captain to a knee injury five minutes into a game it can really rock the boat emotionally.

“So I’m giving them a mulligan for last week.”

4. Richmond

“I have got the Tigers, I’m a believer in the Tigers.

“I don’t know why, I think this clearance game is starting to work and the old firm are still staying strong.”

WHATELEY

1. Collingwood

“(Number) one is the only part that makes sense.

“They’re (at) one with a moat around them.

“Collingwood are the number one seed after two weeks.”

2. Melbourne

“Melbourne for me, I think they just slip out of one.

“I think there was probably an emotional toll with what happened with (Max) Gawn on the night.

“I didn’t think their midfield could get brutalised in such a way.”

3. Carlton

“I really liked what they did on Thursday night.

“I think they’re about to go on a spree.”

4. Sydney

“I’ve got Sydney at four.

“I reckon just par, the opportunity they were given they have absolutely seized.

“Just four and they’ll climb by virtue of what happens next.”
