Collingwood ruckman Mason Cox will be unavailable for the club’s clash with Richmond.
The 32-year-old complained of rib soreness during the club’s Round 2 win over Port Adelaide, with scans revealing a hematoma in the region.
Nine reporter Braden Ingram reports that he could miss more than a month of footy with the injury.
However, the club is yet to determine a return date for Cox.
“Mason experienced soreness in his rib area after the game last weekend,” GM of Football Graham Wright said.
“His injury was initially believed to be a bruised rib, however, after further investigation scans revealed a hematoma in that region.
“Mason’s health is our priority here – he will now undertake further scans before we determine a timeline for his return.”
Cox has kicked three goals from the two games, taken eight marks and averaged nine disposals per game.
