2023-04-13T07:30+10:00

Paul Hasleby has delivered his AFL power rankings for both clubs and players in the wake of Round 4.

From a team perspective, the former Fremantle star is taking into consideration how they performed last year as well as their form in 2023.

Hasleby will update his power rankings every week on SEN WA’s The Run Home.

“Going to find out a bit more on Thursday night against Adelaide.”

2. Collingwood
Last week: 1

“On the back of their loss to Brisbane.”

1. Melbourne
Last week: 2

“I’ve got a new number one. Melbourne is the number one team in the competition for mine.

“They’re hungry, they’re desperate for another premiership after missing out last year.

“They are coming. Saw them live, best defence in the competition and a pretty good forward line as well.”

Hase’s player power rankings

Hasleby’s player list is put together via a rolling system based on history and what they’ve done in the past, as well as current form.

This week he has a top seven.

7. Charlie Curnow (Carlton)
Last week: X

“Another big bag for him, he’s on his way up as well.”

6. Luke Davies-Uniacke (North Melbourne)
Last week: 4

5. Nick Daicos (Collingwood)
Last week: 6

“This guy is unbelievable, this is no fluke.

“He’s a serious player. There’s some aspects I look at that remind me a bit of Chris Judd in the way that he moves in and out of traffic.

“His ball-winning ability is amazing, his kicking is amazing, his decision-making is through the roof.”

4. Christian Petracca (Melbourne)
Last week: 5

“Jumps up ahead of LDU into number four.”

3. Marcus Bontempelli (Western Bulldogs)
Last week: 3

“Holds his spot.”

2. Clayton Oliver (Melbourne)
Last week: 1

“He drops down one but he still played very well against West Coast, he was in the (coaches) votes there.”

1. Jeremy Cameron (Geelong)
Last week: 2

“I’ve got a new leader and he plays for Geelong.

“It’s not Patrick Dangerfield, it is Jeremy Cameron on the back of his seven goals.

“He’s got 18 goals to start the season. He deserves it, he’s now the premier player in the competition.

“He should have at least six Brownlow votes, maybe seven, from the first four rounds. We just have to be giving votes to forwards that are kicking five goals.”
