Geelong's Brad Close has had his one-game suspension for a dangerous tackle upheld at the tribunal on Tuesday night.
The tribunal deliberated for over 45 minutes before handing down the verdict.
Close has copped the ban for his tackle on Adelaide captain Jordan Dawson during the Cats' Round 8 win but Geelong argued the Crow contributed more to the dangerous nature of the contest.

With the size difference between the two, the Cats suggested Dawson took the tackle in a different direction and then brought it to ground.
Yet the tribunal disagreed, and the original grading of careless conduct, medium impact and high contact was upheld.
Close will now miss against Richmond on Friday night.
Jacob Van Rooyen and Nic Newman will also have their cases heard at the tribunal, with Junior Rioli's to be deliberated upon on Wednesday.
