Scans have confirmed Western Bulldog Jason Johannisen has suffered a major hamstring injury from an incident in his side’s Round 10 win over Adelaide.
As first revealed by SEN’s Sam Edmund, Johannisen is set to miss months with the injury suffered in the third term that forced him from the field.
The Bulldogs confirmed a high-grade strain on Monday afternoon.
“Unfortunately, our great win against the Crows was soured by a hamstring injury to JJ in the third quarter,” Bulldogs Head of Sports Medicine Chris Bell told the club's website.
“Being an over-stretching injury whilst at speed, our clinical suspicions of a high-grade injury were confirmed with the MRI that showed extensive damage.
“JJ is the ultimate professional and will get to work with our rehab team to get back playing this home and away season, but we anticipate that he will miss 8-10 games.”
Hearing scans have confirmed the Western Bulldogs' worst fears on Jason Johannisen. The rejuvenated half-back is looking at a couple of months out with a nasty hamstring injury. Has been important in the Dogs' rise in recent weeks.

He's set to miss two months and potentially more from the injury which has seen him sustain tendon damage, a similar setback to the one that forced him out in 2016. He missed 10 weeks on that ocassion before returning to his best and surging the Bulldogs to a Grand Final.
The 26-year-old has locked down his spot on the Bulldogs’ half-back flank once again in 2023, averaging 19 touches and two inside 50s a game.
