Jeremy Coney joins the SENZ commentary team for the summer of UK cricket, including the upcoming Ashes series

2023-05-24T09:00+10:00

Former New Zealand skipper Jeremy Coney will help lead unprecedented cricket coverage across the SENZ airwaves as a key member of the commentary line-up for the upcoming Ashes series in the UK.

The legendary former cricket great will join acclaimed broadcaster Adam Collins and former Australian bowler Damien Fleming, who will bring first-hand knowledge of how to get the job done against England.

SENZ listeners can also enjoy the commentary of Daniel Norcross, the best radio ball-by-baller in England, alongside cricket stalwarts Peter Lalor from The Australian and Cricbuzz's Bharat Sundaresan. Lalor's two decades covering the Australian team, coupled with Sundaresan's far-reaching analysis, ensures listeners will receive comprehensive coverage from all angles.

In addition to the Ashes series, Coney will join Collins to call all the action from the upcoming Vitality IT20 Series and One Day Series between New Zealand and England, also played in the UK.

Coney said: "It's time to parade cricket's traditional rivalry – the Ashes - and I'm eagerly anticipating being there for SENZ to witness England's newfound constant aggression with Bazball, and how Australia combats that willingness to attack."

"SENZ is fast becoming your home of cricket in New Zealand, and that continues with the England v Black Caps white ball series that represents key preparation for the 2023 World Cup later this year."

The SENZ audience can also look forward to commentary from the World Test Championship between Australia and India in the UK from June 7-11.

Collins will again lead the commentary line-up, joined by iconic Indian figures Ravi Shastri and Harsha Bhogle, who were instrumental to SENZ's widely commended Border-Gavaskar Trophy coverage earlier this year.

Two of the most treasured and authoritative voices in Indian cricket over many decades, Shastri and Bhogle will provide valuable insight as Rohit Sharma's side aims to capture the mace, recognising the best Test team in the world, having fallen short in the decider against New Zealand in 2021.
