Melbourne superstar Clayton Oliver has been admitted to hospital as he battles an infected blister according to Channel Seven’s Mitch Cleary.
While Oliver was set to respond from a hamstring injury for Monday’s blockbuster clash against Collingwood, he’s now facing a new battle with a badly infected blister.
Cleary says Oliver has been subjected to an IV drip as he battles the infection after he missed training on Tuesday.
“The gun midfielder has been subjected to an IV drip and antibiotics dealing with the nasty infected blister that has worsened in the last 24 hours,” Cleary told *Channel Seven.”
“The demons had locked Oliver in for return from his hamstring injury, but he was absent from the club yesterday and missed a golf day with teammates today.
“He’s now racing the clock to prove hit his fitness in time to face the pies Monday.”

Oliver missed the last two games with his hamstring injury but has reportedly overcome that concern as he now battles his infection.
The bounce for the King’s Birthday clash is set for 3.20 pm (AEST) on Monday at the MCG.
