“Lost their game”: The worrying area where Adelaide is worse than West Coast

2023-07-14T08:15+10:00

David King is worried about an Adelaide side that has “lost their game” heading into the back end of the season.

The Crows are 4-6 in their last 10 games after a blistering start to the season and have only won one game outside of South Australia this season, beating Hawthorn by three points in Tasmania.

However, it’s their ball movement that has King worried as they fight for a spot inside the top eight.

“The Crows have lost their game. They’re the worst team in the competition, and that includes West Coast, at being able to move the ball in the last six weeks,” King told SEN’s The Picks.

“They’ve lost all ball movement, all offence, all confidence – they’ve had to win in different ways. They’ve had to win at forward half clearance, not necessarily moving the ball.

“The D50 has fallen apart. That’s a real worry coming into a game like this with Toby Greene buzzing around.”

King believes Adelaide will fall out of the finals race if they lose to GWS at home this weekend.

“You couldn’t tip the Crows with any confidence given the form GWS is in,” he said.

“If the Crows lose this one, they miss the finals. It’s all on the line for them.

“Home ground advantage, I am tipping them to win.”

After GWS, the Crows will play Port Adelaide, Gold Coast and Sydney in South Australia in the run home, while facing Melbourne, Brisbane and West Coast away.

With 13 wins likely required to make the eight, they can get there winning those four remaining games at Adelaide Oval plus beating the Eagles.
