Carlton defender Nic Newman has signed a two-year contract extension with the Blues.
After struggling to get a game at Sydney, Newman has become a consistent member of Carlton’s best 22 as both a lockdown defender and a rebounder.
He has averaged 20.7 disposals, 7.3 marks and 3.9 rebound 50s per game for the Blues in 2023.
Carlton has also reportedly re-signed 2022 draftees Jaxon Binns and Harry Lemmey.
AFL Media reports that Binns has signed through 2025 and Lemmey to 2024.
Binns, a hard running wingman, has been close to senior selection in recent weeks while Lemmey is seen as a development project as a key forward.
