Dragons give Sullivan permission to leave, Tigers loom as preferred destination

2023-07-27T09:40+10:00

Wests Tigers club officials are set to meet with Jayden Sullivan on Thursday after the Dragons halfback was granted permission by his club to look elsewhere.

With Luke Brooks' departure to the Manly Sea Eagles set for 2024, the Tigers have been actively searching for a long-term replacement in the halves.

With a small amount of halfbacks available on the market, the Daily Telegraph’s Michael Carayannis believes that Sullivan is expected to meet with Tigers officials immediately.

“He’s meeting with Tigers officials today, touring the facilities, and meeting some of the admin staff,” Carayannis said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.

Whilst the Dragons rejected a request for Sullivan to join the Bulldogs last season, the Tigers are currently the most likely destination for the 21-year-old in 2024.

“It didn't look like it was going to be the case last year," Carayannis continued.

“It looked like he (Sullivan) would be joining the Bulldogs last year when he asked for an immediate release.

“They rejected it last year.

“After requesting to leave last season, it now looks like all roads lead to Concord.

“Jayden Sullivan is on the radar of the Tigers, well and truly."

Sullivan will reportedly just be meeting with club officials as the Tigers playing group and coaching staff are in Tamworth preparing for their clash with South Sydney on Friday night.
