Bombers announce trio of delistings as 2023 season comes to a close

Essendon has announced the delisting of three players.

Alastair Lord, Rhett Montgomerie and Cian McBride have been informed they will not receive contracts for the 2024 season.

McBride was an Irish category B Rookie, while Montgomerie was selected as a rookie in the 2022 draft.

Lord played one game in 2022 after being selected with pick 46 in 2021.

AFL Media’s Callum Twomey has reported that the club will also delist swingman James Stewart, while Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti and Andrew Phillips have retired from football.

The Bombers’ season finished up on Friday night, with Brad Scott’s men winning 11 games.
