Taylor Adams is poised to miss Collingwood's Preliminary Final after sustaining a hamstring injury during training on Friday night.
The Magpies were put through their paces on Friday with the week off in a heated two-hour session. But Adams is set to pay a massive price for the hitout.
Adams, Collingwood's vice-captain, grabbed at his left hamstring after a collision with John Noble and didn't return to the track.
SEN's Chief Sports Reporter Sam Edmund broke the news early on Saturday morning.
More September heartbreak for Taylor Adams. The midfielder has a confirmed hamstring strain and I’m told has been ruled out of next Friday night’s preliminary final. My understanding is it’s on the minor end and Adams would still be a chance for the Grand Final if they get there

“I can tell you that Taylor Adams has suffered a hamstring injury,” he told SEN.
“He will not play in a Preliminary Final next Friday night… I’m told the hamstring injury is on the minor end, so the Grand Final is not out of the question.
“But it’s more finals heartbreak for Taylor Adams.”
Adams has enjoyed a relatively clean bill of health in 2023 after a nasty groin injury suffered in last year’s Qualifying Final.
The 29-year-old has played 23 games this season to average 18.4 disposals and 3.7 clearances.
Collingwood is expected to regain Nick Daicos next week from a knee injury after the Brownlow Medal favourite trained strongly on Friday.
