“You are below average”: Mason fires final shot at Gamble as Newcastle disappoints in New Zealand
NRL Legend Willie Mason has continued his war of words with Newcastle Knights half Tyson Gamble, labelling him as below average in a strong-worded post on X.
Mason and Gamble went back and forth over the last week after the former Knights’ prop claimed without Kalyn Ponga the Knights would have the worst spine in the league.
Gamble fired right back at Mason, telling the AAP that he could ‘get f—cked’ whilst defending his teammates.
"Me, Jacko (Hastings) and Phoenix (Crossland) all saw (the comments)," Gamble said.
"Everybody's got an opinion. It's all right, he should probably worry about his own backyard before he starts worrying about other people.
"He was a middle (forward) not a half, so tell him to get f---ed.”
As the Knights’ season came to a close in New Zealand on Saturday night, Mason took to express his thoughts on the poor performance from Newcastle.
“There could not be a bigger hole that Tyson Gamble wants to crawl into right now,” Mason wrote
“Pick ya battles boy. You are below average.”
