The 2024 AFL premiership market has opened, with the odds set to light plenty of conversation.
Just a few days on from Collingwood’s triumph on the final Saturday in September, the Magpies have been installed as early favourites for next year’s flag.
Craig McRae’s side is at $5 odds with Sportsbet, with fellow Grand Finallists Brisbane Lions the second elect at $6.50.
Perhaps the biggest surprise is Michael Voss’ Carlton the fourth favourite at $8, behind Melbourne in third. The Blues won just five of their opening 14 games of the 2023 season but just three months on, will enter the 2024 season among the most favoured clubs in the premiership market.
GWS ($9), Port Adelaide ($10), Adelaide, Geelong and Sydney (all at $15) make up the next best chances.
Essendon and Richmond are both at $51 despite showing promise at times during the 2023 season, while West Coast and North Melbourne (both $251) are the clear outsiders.
