Report: Adams informs Collingwood of trade wish

2023-10-08T15:30+11:00

Collingwood vice-captain Taylor Adams has informed the Magpies that he would like a trade to Sydney, reports The Age’s Peter Ryan and Michael Gleeson.

The report says the 30-year-old has informed his teammates of his decision, which he came to after attending the club’s Copeland Trophy on Friday night.

Adams missed out on becoming a Collingwood premiership player last weekend with a hamstring injury keeping him sidelined for the Grand Final win.

It’s expected that Adams will receive a three-year deal from the Swans, and while the club has suggested previously that the midfielder is a required player, the report says the expectation is they will agree to a trade in good faith.

Adams is currently contracted for one more season at Collingwood. He has played 175 games for the club since moving across from GWS where he started his career.

He won Collingwood’s best and fairest in 2020, he was named an All-Australian in the same year.
