The Daily Telegraph’s David Riccio is reporting that New South Wales’ hunt for a new coach is over with Michael Maguire agreeing to take over the job from Brad Fittler.
After six years at the helm, Fittler decided to step away as coach after only being offered a 12-month and part-time contract from the NSW board. Maguire was offered the same conditions and accepted the role.
The former South Sydney, Wests Tigers and current Kiwis coach has informed Canberra Raiders management, where he is an assistant, on his decision to accept the role.

It is reported that Maguire and the NSW board have only verbally agreed to an offer but are in the final stages of finalising a written deal.
Maguire has a 55% winning record as a head coach across Wigan in the Super Legue, South Sydney, Wests Tigers and New Zealand.
NSW have lost the last two series against Queensland.
