EARLIER

Clayton Oliver was today at Footscray Hospital, undergoing a CT scan and an X-Ray.

Melbourne is still trying to ascertain all the details, but the good news is he's okay, has been discharged and he's spoken to the club.

Oliver was admitted mid-morning and discharged just before midday.

The club will soon release a statement but it is understood that Oliver fell and hit his head.

The 26-year-old was recently the subject of a possible trade, with the club instead choosing to wrap its arms around the midfielder following a difficult 2023 season.

Several opposition clubs asked the question of Oliver, who remains contracted to the Demons until 2030 but missed large chunks of the recently completed season as a result of a hamstring injury.

In the 15 games he played for the Dees last season, he averaged 30.3 disposals, 6.9 clearances, 6.7 tackles and 5.5 inside 50s.

Oliver attended last Friday night’s 'Bluey' Truscott Memorial Trophy dinner and appeared in good spirits, posing for photos with teammates.

Having being part of Melbourne’s premiership team in 2021, Oliver has grown into one of the club’s most decorated players as a four-time best and fairest and three-time All-Australian.
