Fremantle has signed journeyman key position player Oscar McDonald as a delisted free agent.
McDonald played 81 games for Melbourne before being delisted, joining Carlton for two further seasons and adding another five games to his tally.
His two years at the Blues were both derailed by significant back injuries, though he played in Round 1 of both seasons.
A versatile swingman, McDonald is a key defender who can be used elsewhere if required.
He had a strong 2023 campaign for Williamstown in the VFL and the 27-year-old will replace Joel Hamling at the Dockers, who moved to Sydney in the trade period.
