The Sydney Swans are set for more significant change within the club’s football department.
SEN’s Tom Morris is reporting that former GWS head coach Leon Cameron is set to step into the role as Head of Football (Executive General Manager) at the Swans.
Cameron, who has been Sydney’s talent director and coaching director since late last year, will replace Charlie Gardiner who is stepping down in order to move back to Melbourne.
The former Geelong and St Kilda player has been with the Swans since 2018. It is understood he will act as a consultant for the club from Melbourne.
Gardiner’s shift comes after assistant coach Don Pyke left to take up the CEO job at West Coast which he will transition into during 2024.
Replacing Pyke under John Longmire is Mark McVeigh who will step up to the senior assistant coaching role.
Charlie Gardiner will essentially act as a consultant for the @sydneyswans from Melbourne. List management, tribunal matters etc. @1116sen https://t.co/9eZfka1YWf
