WATCH | Why Tohu Harris re-signed with NZ Warriors until 2025

2023-12-06T16:00+13:00

Uncertainty surrounds the One NZ Warriors as the club prepares for the 2024 season.

Last month, Addin Fonua-Blake requested an early release from the club based on compassionate grounds in a bid to play for a Sydney team and be closer to his parents.

While the Warriors work through the barnstorming prop's future beyond next season, the intention is for him to remain with his current side until the 2024. However on Tuesday, CEO Cameron George revealed to SEN Sportsday that all options beyond next season are still on the table, including the possibility of Fonua-Blake staying.

A three-year offer is with Kurt Capewell to bring him to the Warriors from the Brisbane Broncos, but it is seemingly unlikely that the second-rower would make the move to New Zealand for 2024.

The one thing the Warriors can be absolutely certain on is the immediate future of their captain. Tohu Harris is a big part of their recent success and was announced Monday to have signed a contract extension to keep him in blue, red and green through until the end of 2025.

The skipper joined SENZ Mornings with Ian Smith to discuss his continued commitment to the club and preparations for the 2024 season.
