Melbourne Mavericks to call John Cain Arena home

MELBOURNE Mavericks fans can look forward to an exciting match day experience as they cheer on their team, with the Mavericks proudly announcing that the iconic John Cain Arena will host home matches during the 2024 Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) season and beyond.

The news will ensure Mavericks fans can enjoy a thrilling netball experience, with John Cain Arena already renowned for hosting world-class sporting events, including international and domestic netball action.

With an anticipated season ahead, the true essence of the Mavericks brand will be on full display during match days, with an array of interactive fan experiences planned at the state-of-the-art venue. From unique pre-game activities to engaging halftime promotions, each home game will cater to all segments of our fan base, delivering an atmosphere not to be missed.

While John Cain Arena will take centre stage for home games, the Waverley Netball Centre will continue to be the team’s home base for training sessions and community initiatives. As the team continues to expand its presence in the South East of Melbourne, the Mavericks have several community visits, open training sessions and family-oriented events planned in the coming weeks as the team builds a strong connection with its supporters. Stay tuned for an exciting lineup of activities to be announced in early 2024.

Shae Bolton Brown, the Mavericks' General Manager, said the announcement was further reason for Mavericks fans to get excited ahead of the team’s inaugural season.
