2023-12-16T10:09+11:00

Port Adelaide recruit Ivan Soldo has undergone surgery and won't rejoin the main training group until late January.

Soldo, who came to Alberton from Richmond in this year's trade period, aggravated a finger injury earlier this week and underwent surgery on Thursday.

The Power report he'll miss upwards of a month of training.

“Ivan will rejoin the team on the Gold Coast tomorrow after successful surgery on the little finger on his left hand,” Port medical boss Tim O’Leary said in a statement.

“His running obviously won’t be impacted and we expect him to return to full training with the group in late January.”

Soldo has played 57 AFL games and has been earmarked for the no.1 ruck role in Ken Hinkley's side following Scott Lycett's retirement.

The Tigers received picks 41 and 49, a future second-round pick and Port's future fourth-round pick in exchange for Soldo, with pick 50 heading back in return.
