Melbourne midfielder Clayton Oliver has been charged by Victoria Police and will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court in January.
7 News’ Mitch Cleary broke the news late on Friday that Oliver had been caught behind the wheel by Victoria Police despite being banned from driving after a medical episode.
Oliver suffered a seizure in October and was taken to hospital as a result of the incident.
“The Demons midfielder was banned from driving after he suffered a seizure but he was caught behind the wheel,” Cleary told 7 News.

Melbourne in a statement, via 7 News, said: “Clayton advised the club immediately following an incident where Victoria Police stopped him for driving while his licence was suspended on medical grounds. This was in relation to the time he spent in the hospital following a seizure.”
The 26-year-old has endured a rocky off-season since Melbourne’s straight sets finals exit, with concerns raised around Oliver’s unprofessional conduct leading to a week of intense trade speculation in October.
