Australia will meet South Korea in the Quarter-Finals of the AFC Asian Cup in Qatar.
The Socceroos advanced to the final eight of the tournament by virtue of a 4-0 victory over Indonesia on Sunday and have been awaiting their opponents since.
Overnight, two-time Asian champions South Korea has been confirmed as that opponent after edging Saudi Arabia 4-2 in a penalty shootout. The match was forced to penalties after it ended 1-1 at the end of extra-time.
The clash between the Socceroos, ranked 25th in the world by FIFA, and the Taeguk Warriors, ranked 23rd, takes place in Al Wakrah from 2:30am AEDT this Saturday morning, February 3.
The other confirmed Asian Cup quarters are between Tajikistan v Jordan, and host nation Qatar v Uzbekistan.
Iran plays Syria and Bahrain meets four-time winner Japan on Wednesday night = the winners to form the remaining match.
Australia defeated South Korea in the 2015 Final to win the country's first Asian Cup.
The two nations last met in a 2019 friendly in Busan with South Korea taking the honours 1-0.
