Sydney suffer big injury blow to veteran midfielders

2024-03-02T11:15+11:00

Sydney Swans pair Taylor Adams and Luke Parker will miss the first month of the season, reports AFL Media's Josh Gabelich.

Scans confirmed a medial ligament strain to Adams, an injury he received in their practice match against the Brisbane Lions on Thursday.

A big signing from Collingwood in the off-season, Adams injured in his knee in an awkward Cam Rayner tackle that saw Adams play no further part in the match.

The news adds to Sydney’s growing injury list with Callum Mills (elbow) and Luke Parker (broken arm) already ruled out Round 1.

Gabelich also confirmed that Parker's broken arm will see him miss a month of footy.

Sydney kicks off their season against Melbourne at the SCG on Thursday night.
