The AFL has handed down its verdict on Alastair Clarkson for the North Melbourne’s coach barrage against St Kilda players last Sunday.
Per multiple reports, Clarkson has been handed a $20,000 fine and a suspended ban of two games until 2025.
It was reported Clarkson used homophobic language towards St Kilda’s Jimmy Webster after his bump on North Melbourne co-captain Jy Simpkin, with multiple witnesses overhearing the slur.
Clarkson apologised for the incident on Monday.
Friday’s announcement sees Clarkson free to coach Round 1 and onwards, although if he infringes again before 2025, he will cop a two-game ban.
The 55-year-old champion coach has form in similar spaces and has been fined by the AFL on multiple occasions stretching back to his time as head coach of Hawthorn.
