The teams are officially in for the traditional Round 1 clash between Carlton and Richmond at the MCG on Thursday night.
As both teams played in Opening Round, it’s the first time these teams haven’t played each other straight off the bat for a season since 2014.
For the Blues, Corey Durdin comes in for Sam Docherty while the Tigers brought in experienced trio Tom Lynch, Toby Nankervis and Dustin Martin for the big clash.
SEN Sportsday’s Brad Johnson and Kane Cornes reacted to the teams being released on Wednesday night with Richmond bringing back the big guns in hopes of picking up their first win of the campaign
Cornes: “Let's straighten up and talk about the teams because you (Johnson) are tipping Richmond in an upset.
“They got some big star power back, Dustin Martin, Tom Lynch, the captain Toby Nankervis, the youngster Ryan Mansell.
“As for Omitted, Naismith, Ryan, Koschitzke and Banks - all four of those all omitted.
“For the Blues, just one change, we knew Docherty was going to be out injured. He won't play for the rest of the season with that knee.
“Corey Durdin takes his position and I guess that strengthens your argument a little bit there for the Tigers.”
Johnson: “It does a little bit there with who they've got in.
“How they go is the big question that we wait and see that will be answered.
“Jack Carroll showed a lot, didn't he when he entered the arena last week in the centre bounce.
“It was a great effort from Jack Carroll I thought last week.”
