Which players should have been given coaches votes for their Round 2 performances?

Champion Data’s Daniel Hoyne has named the five players who were perhaps overlooked by the coaches on the weekend.

See the five players below:

Liam Henry (St Kilda)

“Highest rated game of his career - 14 disposals for nine score involvements and kicked two goals (against Collingwood),” Hoyne said on SEN’s Sportsday.

“He was the second highest rated player on the ground and didn’t get a vote.

“I thought he was enormous until he went off and the game was pretty much decided by the time he went off.”

George Wardlaw (North Melbourne)

“We had him as the fourth highest rated player on the ground (against Fremantle) and he didn’t get a vote from the coaches.

“That was the highest rated game of his 10-game career. He kicked a nice goal from outside 50 as well.

“He’s going along nicely just like a lot of the North youngsters.”

Jack Viney (Melbourne)

“Two weeks in a row he’s missed out on votes when he probably could have easily got them.

“He was second highest rated player (against Hawthorn) behind Christian Petracca for zero coaches votes.

“His ball use at the moment is No.12 of any midfielder in the competition. We haven’t really associated that with Jack Viney before.”

Jade Gresham (Essendon)

“That was his best game over the last five years (against Sydney).

“He’s now playing as a permanent forward, so he’s not playing as that centre bounce midfielder who’s going forward.

“His ability to be able to win contests is really impressive, but they need to get more around him to allow him to do what he needs to do offensively.”

Daniel Rioli (Richmond)

“He was the fifth highest rated player on the ground on the weekend (against Port Adelaide).”
