“It’s really strange”: Corey Parker on Walsh contract, Reynolds return, Broncos v Cowboys and more
Brisbane Corey legend Corey Parker has commented on the “strange” contract situation surrounding Reece Walsh.
The 21-year-old is reported to have signed a $5.5 million extension with the Broncos, but quickly took to social media to suggest that “no deal has been signed”.
What makes it more intriguing is that Broncos coach Kevin Walters indicated that “he’ll end up staying long term” even though nothing has yet been agreed upon.
Parker assessed the situation on SENQ Mornings.
“It’s really strange, he’s a different character, Reece Walsh,” he said.
“Last night he put up a photo of himself on his social media saying, ‘Don’t believe everything you read. I haven’t signed anything just yet’.
“I find it extremely interesting because Kevvie Walters, his coach, has come out on record and said, quote unquote, that ‘Reece has agreed to terms’. What else is there to agree to? He just hasn’t put pen to paper.
“That will be a formality, you would think, in the coming days, but Reece wants to be in control of his own destiny and make his own announcement in regards to that.”
