WATCH | Running It Straight preview NRL Round 5

2024-04-03T12:00+13:00

Following their 20-12 victory over the Newcastle Knights in front of 24,000-plus fans at Go Media Stadium on Easter Sunday, the One NZ Warriors are on the road this week, going up against the South Sydney Rabbitohs on Saturday night.

Souths are coming off a 20-16 win versus the Bulldogs and sit 16th on the NRL ladder with a 1-3 record, while the Warriors are 10th and staring at an opportunity to crack the NRL's top eight.

After Roger Tuivasa-Sheck's incredible showing last round, leading the match in run metres by some margin with 283, questions were raised over whether the former Dally M Medal winner should be the Warriors' first-choice fullback.

However, any such discussion was quickly simmered by head coach Andrew Webster standing by Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, who makes his return from a hamstring injury this week. Although, that is where good injury news ends for the club - Dylan Walker, Kurt Capewell and Luke Metcalf are all ruled out.

On this week's edition of SENZ's weekly rugby league show Running It Straight, hosts Sam Hewat and Anthony Gelling will detail that injury news, plus preview the Round 5 matchups across the league.

Joining the Running It Straight crew this week is Brent Tate, who played for the Brisbane Broncos, NZ Warriors, and North Queensland Cowboys, in over 200 NRL games across his career.
