2024-04-17T08:00+10:00

Coleman Medallist Scott Cummings has ranked his top 10 players in the AFL ahead of Round 5 of the 2024 season.

Cummings releases his power rankings weekly on SEN WA Breakfast.

He has dropped one from his list this week, bringing in Connor Rozee for Port Adelaide teammate Zak Butters.

10. Connor Rozee (Port Adelaide)

“Zak Butters was at 10, I have slipped him out for Connor Rozee.

“He has got Butters covered in a lot of categories after five rounds.”

9. Errol Gulden (Sydney)

“His importance for Sydney is enormous.”

8. Toby Greene (GWS Giants)

“Sixth in the competition for score involvements.

“It is an attacking style of football and it is great to see.

“I don't think anyone will dispute me saying that Greene belongs in the top 10.”

7. Charlie Curnow (Carlton)

“Curnow stays at 7. He is second in the Coleman.

“He will win the Coleman Medal, barring injury.”

6. Christian Petracca (Melbourne)

“Number one in score involvements across the competition, fourth for contested possessions and second in coaches votes.

“Elite player and Melourne are stuffed without him.”

5. Luke Jackson (Fremantle)

“When he plays well, Freo wins. There is evidence of that already.

“He is the most important player at Freo.”

4. Nick Daicos (Collingwood)

“His run and ball use, and his importance to Collingwood is elite.”

3. Tom Green (GWS)

“12th in possessions, 10th in score involvements and 15th in tackles.

“He is in the top 20 in most categories across the AFL.”

2. Marcus Bontempelli (Western Bulldogs)

“It's Bont or bust for the Doggies.

“He is the most complete player in the competition.”

1. Isaac Heeney (Sydney)

“You go across all the numbers for the first five weeks and he is the best.

“He leads the coaches votes by a massive margin.”
