Ranking every Round 6 AFL game from most to least interesting

2024-04-17T07:31+10:00

The SEN Run Home team of Andy Maher, Julian De Stoop and Andrew Gaze have ranked this week’s games of footy from least to most interesting.

Round 6 looms large, with a number of even matchups, making it probably the toughest week to tip this year.

The team made the controversial call to rank the Derby in last, with interest in West Coast versus Fremantle dwindling outside of Western Australia.

This comes despite the Eagles beating Richmond on the weekend and the Dockers’ strong start to the season.

St Kilda versus the Western Bulldogs came in first, likely given the loser will be 2-4 and the pressure building at the Whitten Oval or RSEA Park.

See their rankings below:

8th: West Coast versus Fremantle

De Stoop: “The Derby comes in last.”

7th: Adelaide versus Essendon

Maher: “I hate to do this to you, I’m very interested in this game, but it comes in number seven.”

6th: North Melbourne versus Hawthorn

Maher: “The fallout for North/Hawthorn is obvious.”

De Stoop: “Which club needs to win this game more?”

Maher: “Hawthorn needs to win this more than North.”

5th: Sydney versus Gold Coast

Maher: “I had this at fifth because both teams are in the eight and it’s a real test for Gold Coast.”

4th: Carlton versus GWS

De Stoop: “With three minutes left in last week’s game this was going to be two undefeated teams.”

Maher: “Look at the top three, can you argue that it’s more interesting than them?”

3rd: Brisbane versus Geelong

2nd: Collingwood versus Port Adelaide

1st: St Kilda versus Western Bulldogs

Maher: “This is the most important game of the round.”

De Stoop: “The loser is 2-4, and if the Dogs lose again…”

Maher: “I’ve got enormous interest in it.”
