Star GWS duo and gun Eagle handed MRO bans for Round 6 incidents

2024-04-21T17:55+10:00

Three players were handed bans by the MRO following Saturday’s Round 6 action.

GWS have received a double blow, with both Toby Greene and Jesse Hogan being given one-match bans for rough conduct and striking respectively.

The MRO graded Greene’s marking collision with Carlton’s Jordan Boyd as high contact, medium impact and careless conduct after his shoulder collected the Blue in the jaw.

As for Hogan, his strike on Lewis Young was graded as high conduct, intentional conduct and low impact, leading to a one-game ban.

If the Giants accept these decisions, the star pair will miss the club’s Round 7 clash with Brisbane on Anzac Day.

The other player to cop a ban was West Coast’s Tom Barrass for his dangerous tackle on Michael Walters which was graded as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

He’ll miss the Eagles’ game against Gold Coast if he accepts the ban.

George Hewett, Tom Green, Brandan Parfitt and Jeremy Cameron were all handed fines for separate incidents.
