Who were the six best players in Round 6?
Kane Cornes assessed each game and came up with his top six performers.
Read his thoughts below:
Will Hoskin-Elliott (Collingwood)
“Just give us your best couple of sentences on him, Bucks,” Cornes said on SEN Breakfast.
Nathan Buckley said: “I love the bloke.
“He’s the antithesis of what you expect a footballer to be. Family man, always got a smile on his face, very level emotionally, underrated, always has been.
“I love him as a bloke, I love him as a teammate, and he’s a brilliant footballer.”
Cornes added: “He was so good.
“It was a full four-quarter performance from him, but then there was some absolute brilliance.
“I said on Saturday night that he turned into Jeremy Cameron for a quarter and a half, and that’s what it looked like.
“That’s the sort of stuff he was doing.”
Buckley continued: “He’s been bit of a whipping boy for the Collingwood faithful over time.
“But since he’s come from GWS to us as a marking forward, high forward, wingman, half-back - he’s played roles and he’s had to move around.
“He’s one of those guys you can move around to keep the balance in your team and he does it without blinking an eye.”
Jai Newcombe (Hawthorn)
“It was great to see him back and Hawthorn dominant through the midfield after they’d been so poor,” said Cornes.
“I thought their rucks were really aggressive and Newcombe’s numbers were great.
“It was really good to see him back.”
Jake Waterman & Elliot Yeo (West Coast)
“Jake Waterman has turned into Tony Lockett if Will Hoskin-Elliott has turned into Jeremy Cameron.
“He’s kicked 11 goals in two weeks, he’s unstoppable.
“His teammate Elliot Yeo is just on a tear through the midfield.
“I thought they needed some recognition, and we even left out Harley Reid.”
Patrick Cripps & Sam Walsh (Carlton)
“Then the one-two duo from the Blues.
“The combination of Walsh and Cripps through there. 17 score involvements for Walsh, 11 for Cripps and 13 clearances.
“They were just enormous.”
