From most likely to least: Dwayne Russell ranks every club's premiership hopes after Round 6

2024-04-23T14:10+10:00

Who is most likely to win the premiership in 2024?

Geelong have started hot, the Blues and the Giants look poised for deep runs, while both of last season’s grand finalists have had an indifferent start to the season.

But, according to Dwayne Russell, the ladder is not a reflection of premiership likelihood.

He ranked his premiership favourites on SEN’s Dwayne’s World and it’s safe to say the rankings will spark conversations.

"I think the ladder does lie at the moment," Russell began.

"Collingwood at 10th is a lie. Brisbane 12th is a lie. I don’t think Adelaide’s 15th.

"So here is my ranking…"

1. Sydney Swans

"They’re the number one team in the comp right now."

2. Carlton

3. Collingwood

"Collingwood might be 10th on the ladder, but they’re the third best team in the comp in my opinion."

4. Brisbane

"Yes, they are outside the eight, but I think they’ve got a great list and they are still the fourth-best placed team to win the flag this year, even though a lot have written them off because they won’t finish in the top four."

5. Melbourne

6. GWS Giants

7. Geelong

8. Port Adelaide

9. Western Bulldogs

10. Essendon

11. Gold Coast

12. Fremantle

13. St Kilda

14. Adelaide

15. Hawthorn

16. Richmond

17. West Coast

18. North Melbourne
