The 2024 Goals From Free Kicks Ladder - Round 6

2024-04-24T14:20+10:00

The Free Kick Ladder always causes some consternation among the footy public.

But what happens when it comes to goals from free kicks?

Let’s find out.

With help from our good mates at Champion Data, we have uncovered the current Goals From Free Kicks Ladder after Round 6.

Who is on top and who sits at the bottom? Read on to find out.

The Goals From Free Kicks Ladder - Round 6

Essendon sits atop the charts with a differential of +6, having kicked 10 goals from frees and conceded 4.

Behind them are the Western Bulldogs at +5 (12 for and 7 against) with Carlton third on +3 having comfortably kicked the most goals from frees (21) while also conceding the most (18).

Collingwood are also on +3 (10 for and 7 against) with GWS and West Coast both on +2.

Down the other end, Hawthorn is -9 having given up 14 goals from frees while only kicking 5.

Second bottom is Adelaide on -3 (6 for and 9 against), while there are five clubs all on -2 including St Kilda, Richmond, North Melbourne, Gold Coast and Geelong.

The 50-Metre Penalties Ladder - Round 6

We also thought it would be interesting to have a look at the 50-Metre Penalties Ladder.

This is simply the differentials between 50m penalties paid for and against each team, and not goals kicked from 50m penalties. (We will do that a bit later on in the year).

Carlton is on top with a differential of +9 with 13 50s for and 4 against.

They are well clear of Sydney on +5 (10 for and 5 against), Essendon on +4 (8 for and 4 against), and Collingwood and Melbourne both on +2.

At the other end of the scale, West Coast is both on -6 having received just one 50 while giving away 7.

Richmond is second bottom on -5 (3 for and 8 against), while North Melbourne and Hawthorn are each on -3 with the Roos having given away the most 50s in the league (10).
