2024-05-01T06:55+10:00

Which players should have been given coaches votes for their Round 7 performances?

Champion Data’s Daniel Hoyne has named the five players who were perhaps overlooked by the coaches on the weekend.

The below guys rated in the top five of Champion Data’s ratings yet did not receive any votes.

See the five players below:

Nick Daicos (Collingwood)

“Clearly our highest rated player on the ground,” Hoyne said on SEN’s Sportsday.

“Second highest rated player for the round.”

Willie Rioli (Port Adelaide)

“Second highest rated player on the ground.

“Seventh best small forward for the week, didn’t get a vote.”

Blake Acres (Carlton)

“I thought his performance against Geelong was superb.

“Third highest rated player on the ground, didn’t get a vote.

“Clearly the best wingman from Round 7.”

Bailey Banfield (Fremantle)

“I just want to give him a shout-out in terms of what he is doing this year.

“The 32nd best player in the competition this year. The role that he’s playing across the wing and half-forward has been superb.

“Zero votes, fourth highest rated player on the ground. He’s absolutely flying.”

Lloyd Meek (Hawthorn)

“Since he’s come into the team he’s actually been really influential.

“They were a bit undecided in terms of who they were going with in the ruck between Ned Reeves and Lloyd Meek.

“Clearly, Meek is now the man for Hawthorn moving forward. Fourth highest rated player on the ground, didn’t get a vote.

“He kept Brodie Grundy to his lowest rated game of the season.”
