Liverpool great Jamie Carragher has slammed Manchester United’s post-match behaviour after they were smashed 4-0 by Crystal Palace.
Erik Ten Hag and United’s horrific season has gone from bad to worse with Tuesday morning’s loss making it their 13th Premier League defeat for the campaign – the most in a single season in the club’s history.
With pressure constantly mounting on Ten Hag, this result will do nothing but increase the scrutiny on the Dutch coach with the Old Trafford club considering parting ways after a shocking second season in charge with a number of embarrassing results.
The Red Devils sit eighth on the table with just 54 points and three fixtures remaining. Their worst points tally in a season is 58 in 2021/22.
But it was scenes after Tuesday morning’s clash at Palace’s Selhurst Park between Antony and Mason Mount with the Brazilian whispering behind his hand to the former Chelsea player.
“Just get off the pitch! Talking, whispering behind your hand – you’ve been absolutely awful. They’re probably talking about one of the players, or somebody else, or the manager,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“Just get off the pitch and get in. You’ve been beaten 4-0. Honestly, embarrassing.”
A brace for Michael Olise and goals to Tyrick Mitchell and Jean-Phillippe Mateta secured Crystal Palace’s 11th win for the season as they head to Wolverhampton this weekend (Sunday morning AEST).
It doesn’t get any easier for United in their next fixture as they host title contenders Arsenal at Old Trafford on May 12.
Arsenal have won their last two games against United.
