WATCH | Running It Straight previews NRL Magic Round

2024-05-15T17:00+12:00

Running It Straight has your weekly fix of rugby league - and this week is extra special as all the NRL teams converge onto Brisbane for the annual Magic Round.

The One NZ Warriors have a mammoth task ahead going up against the defending champion Penrith Panthers at Suncorp Stadium, with injuries forcing coach Andrew Webster to make a number of changes to his lineup.

Shaun Johnson (pectoral), Roger Tuivasa-Sheck (hamstring), Rocco Berry (hand) and Freddy Lussick (concussion protocols) are all unavailable for selection. This sees Taine Tauupiki starting at fullback and shifting Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad into the No. 6 jersey, which moves Te Maire Martin to halfback in cover of the injured Johnson.

Wayde Egan will resume his starting hooker role, while Ali Leiataua and Adam Pompey start in the centres to cover the absence of Berry and Tuivasa-Sheck. Dylan Walker, Tom Ale, Jazz Tevaga, and Jacob Laban make up the interchange for the Round 11 clash with Penrith.

SENZ will be live from Magic Round at Suncorp Stadium throughout the weekend - Sam Hewat and Blake Ayshford will be providing live commentary of the Sea Eagles v Broncos on Friday, Sharks v Roosters on Saturday, plus Warriors v Panthers on Sunday - all live from Suncorp Stadium.

On this week's show, Sam Hewat and Anthony Gelling react to the big news of the day surrounding Wayne Bennett, before being joined by SEN League's Justin Horo.
