Cats duo hit with bans for high bumps on same Giants player

Geelong duo Mark Blicavs and Jhye Clark have been hit with bans for high bumps in Saturday’s loss to GWS at GMHBA Stadium.

The pair both bumped Giants defender Lachie Whitfield in separate incidents.

Clark hit the Giant first in the second term, with their heads clashing in the bump.

Blicavs then hit Whitfield high with his shoulder in the last term after he disposed of the footy.

Both incidents were deemed careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

The MRO has offered both players one-game bans. They’ll sit out Geelong’s clash with Richmond on Saturday night if they accept the decision.

Jack Lukosius (Striking), Nic Newman (Striking), James Peatling (Rough Conduct) and Nick Vlastuin (Striking) were also handed fines from Saturday’s Round 11 action.
