Young Bulldog Sam Darcy looks set for a stint on the sidelines after flattening Collingwood’s Brayden Maynard early in Friday night’s contest.
Standing under a high ball early in the first quarter, Maynard marked in the centre square before Darcy came off his opponent to crash into his back.

“He (Darcy) will be missing next week when they play the Lions... this is a very strange start from the Bulldogs,” Gerard Whateley said in commentary for AFL Nation.
Nick Dal Santo added: “He knows he’s done, it’s just how many games he’s going to miss.”
The incident drew immediate remonstration from almost a dozen Magpies and Maynard made no mistake in slotting the goal after being handed a 50-metre penalty.
It was just his 20th goal playing game no. 198.
If Darcy’s act is deemed a reportable offence and not a football act, the Match Review Officer will be looking at the severity of the impact, if the contact was high and whether the incident was careless or intentional.
Maynard was taken from the game soon after and marched down into the bowels of Marvel Stadium for a concussion test before returning to the field late in the opening term.
