Round 10 of the VFL season is complete with four games taking place across Sunday.

The day’s first game took place at People First Stadium with Gold Coast going down to Werribee 73-90.

In an evenly matched game, it was the Tigers who pulled away late, kicking three of the last four goals as Jack Henderson stood out with a huge three-goal, 24-disposal outing.

As for the Suns, they had a few strong performances from players looking to win their way back into the senior line-up.

They included Brandon Ellis (two goals, 29 disposals), Levi Casboult (four goals), Alex Davies (19 disposals) and Sam Day (three goals), while Jake Rogers responded to his AFL axing with goals and 14 disposals.

Attention then turned to Windy Hill where Essendon were thrashed 40-112 by Box Hill.

The Hawks were simply far too strong for the home side and Chad Wingard (four goals, 15 disposals), Nick Watson (four goals, 22 disposals), Max Ramsden (23 disposals, two goals) and Finn Maginness (36 disposals, one goal) all thrived as a result.

In a down day for the Dons, Will Setterfield (two goals, 28 disposals), and Dylan Shiel (25 disposals) got their hands on it while mid-season pick-up Saad El-Hawli had 25 touches as he put on his new colours for the first time.

Unfortunately for Essendon, young defender Zach Reid also went down with an apparent shoulder injury in the third term and didn’t see out the game.

The Northern Bullants then picked up their second win of the season defeating 95-83 Carlton at Genis Steel Oval.

While the Blues went down, they’d be pleased with the performances of Jack Carroll (32 disposals) and Jason Binns (one goal, 21 disposals. Jesse Motlop (eight disposals) and Caleb Marchbank (12 disposals) were quiet.

The round then wrapped up at ETU Stadium with Port Melbourne upsetting Williamstown 129-69.

Other Round 10 winners included Footscray, Coburg, Geelong and Frankston. North Melbourne, Brisbane, GWS, Southport and Sydney took the week off with the bye.
