Nick:

Caulfield R8, No.8 - SHEVA ($35)
She was five wide without cover first-up on a very testing track at Caulfield and stuck on well enough behind Bossy Nic & Enna’s Dream. Looks good pressure in this race and she can blend in at the right time. Stable have always had big wraps on her.

Rockhampton R7, No.3 - SNEAK PREVIEW ($8.50)
He’s been spotting some good horses big margins in all three runs this preparation. He warmed up late first-up back in April, then had a flat one in a strong race behind Gringotts and Knight’s Choice, before storming home from a mile back in a very strong BM90 at Eagle Farm on Oaks Day behind Princess Rhaenys, Brookhaven & Age of Sail. There’s a lot of pressure in this race from Namazu, Master Jamie, Cocobrew Express, Le Heros, that it sets up for this bloke to get over the top of them late.

Doomben R8, No.1 - MISSISSIPPI PRINCE ($18)
Ticking along nicely this preparation coming through some much tougher races during the carnival. First-up he was in a strong midweek race behind the likes of Midnight In Tokyo & Punch Lane - he then went to the Spear Chief behind Yellow Brick & Wategos. Fourth-up now, gets a favourable wet track and should be able to get the lead or at least trail Cinque Torri. Much easier than what he’s been in.

Randwick R8, No.4 - SUBSTANTIAL ($18)
He resumed in the Civic Stakes at Listed level on a Heavy track and had to go back from the wide draw. He worked home well to run fifth, beating home Tamerlane who has since won. If the track gets to the better side of a heavy track and into the soft range, it brings him right into it from a much softer draw.

SEN LEADERBOARD-4

Blake:

Randwick R7, No.8 - NAILS MURPHY ($4.40)
He was a complete excuse two back and then didn’t find the best going last time out. Most of his key rivals bring midweek form and this bloke is set to improve fourth-up. Getting to a mile suits and he looks to have a class edge on his rivals.

Randwick R8, No.5 - TESTATOR SILENS ($3.60)
He just missed last time out when doing his best work through the line. He lost his spot on the turn when the winner sprinted too quickly. Nash will have learnt from that and he does get the blinkers on again to negate the drop in trip.

Randwick R9, No.17 - TIME QUEST ($8.50)
There is too much in the market between this bloke and BEAR ON THE LOOSE (#9) who was impressive in his Australian debut, but this bloke gets a 3.5kg weight swing in his favour and didn’t have the best luck last time out. He can only strip fitter for that last start effort and will be in the finish at each-way odds.
