David King and Gerard Whateley have named their top four seeds following Round 18 of the 2024 AFL season.
Whateley is back from a mid-season break and both have firmly put the Sydney Swans at number one.
See their seedings below:
1 - Sydney
“Absolutely at one,” King said on SEN’s Whateley.
“They’re great to watch. If you’re watching as a junior and wondering what do I want to become as a midfielder, watch Chad Warner’s second quarter.
“My god, what a player.”
2 - Carlton
“They’re staying there (at two).
“It’s temporary, not terminal (their two losses in a row).
“It’s a one-meeting fix, it’s an eyeball test, can you out-stare the coach? Will you get this right and will you get these defensive 50 stoppages sorted?”
3 - Geelong
“This is on the back of absolute coaching.
“What he (Chris Scott) has done with the ruck position and what he’s done with Tom Stewart has revolutionised their back six in such a simple way.
“It’s just ridiculous how easy it’s been and other coaches haven’t adjusted with him. No longer do we see Stewart get tagged, it’s great coaching.”
4 - Brisbane
“I’m still worried about their defensive 50 stuff but they’re in pure health and making a bit of a charge.
“I’m looking forward to seeing next weekend (against Sydney).”
1 - Sydney
“Sydney at one.
“Pick your own for the rest.”
2 - Carlton
“I’ve also got Carlton at two.
“I was desperately hoping to avoid having to demote them but they couldn’t do the right thing.”
3 - Brisbane
4 - Hawthorn
“Have been for a few weeks (in my top 4) and because I had a gap week I didn’t have to drop them out.
“The play-out game, if they lose to Collingwood obviously they’ll concede their place in the seedings.
“But I like them.”
