Has Mitchell Moses become undroppable after stellar Game III performance?

Mitchell Moses has etched himself into NSW Blues history after starring in his side’s monumental 14-4 win over the Queensland Maroons in Brisbane on Wednesday night.

The Parramatta Eels’ star has been heavily praised for his contribution to the series win and has all but secured a long-term future in the Blues jersey after the Game III performance.

Despite having limited playing time in the NRL this year, Moses led his side to an improbable win and earned the praise of NSW Blues great Brett Kimmorley.

“Mitchell Moses stood up last night, that’s his fifth Origin match and he shows he’s entitled to be in the Origin arena,” Kimmorley said on SEN 1170 Mornings.

“Not many players go to Suncorp and star and win up there, he’s earned that legacy now that he’s one of the players in NSW history that will be remembered for that.

“I thought it was a coming of age for Mitchell Moses last night, on the back of front foot attack.

“When he scored that try and came up with the big moments, it was outstanding.”

Despite the praise going towards Moses, the looming return of the former incumbent Nathan Cleary is set to cause a massive selection headache for coach Michael Maguire with many already trying to predict if the pair could play together in 2025.

“Obviously I think there’s a position you could play Cleary and Moses, it just depends how they play combination-wise,” Kimmorley added.

“Nathan Cleary is the best halfback in the competition and has won three Grand Finals.

“That’s what Madge Maguire gets paid to do. Do we forget that he dropped the captain of our state in James Tedesco for Dylan Edwards in this series as well?”
