Who were the six best players in Round 19?

Nathan Buckley assessed each game on SEN Breakfast and came up with his top six performers.

Read his thoughts below:

Caleb Serong (Fremantle)

“I thought Caleb Serong was awesome,” Buckley said on SEN Breakfast.

“I don’t even need to go to numbers, his impact was supreme.

“His work rate off the ball to get to as many contests as he did. He’s putting together a fair season.”

Ben Keays (Adelaide)

“I thought Keays on Friday night was exceptional.

“He had four snap goals and then was able too kick the set shot for his fifth. He has been huge in that role.

“He looks limited in terms of his kicking skills, but that’s only one skill of the game. He’s super fit, he gets up and down the ground, he seems to me like whatever the coach asks he’ll give you everything he’s got.

“His contest is excellent, his aerial is pretty good. We look at the limitations of a player, and his kicking isn’t a 9 out of 10, but it’s very effective. He’s worked on it.”

Kane Cornes added: “Unbelievable.

“That was one of the best performances of the year, let alone the round.

“His kicking has improved a lot.”

Jack Ginnivan (Hawthorn)

“I thought Ginnivan was huge.

“That was an exceptional performance and it was on a big stage.”

Tim Membrey (St Kilda)

“It was great to see him back up and about.

“He kicked five goals of his own. He was one of the most influential players on the field.”

Adam Treloar (Western Bulldogs)

“Adam Treloar’s performance on Saturday night was huge.

“It’s really not difficult for ‘Ads’ to find 30 touches, he finds the ball really well, gets in an under.

“The effectiveness of his year has been next level again. He’s hitting the scoreboard again and it’s largely off the fact that the Bulldogs are moving the ball better.

“He’s able to get on the end of it and he’s always been great at that.”

Hugh McCluggage (Brisbane)

“I thought Hugh McCluggage was the pick of Brisbane players in what was the game of the round in my mind.

“Three goals and mid-20 touches. A high impact when it really mattered.”

Cornes added: “Two big goals that he kicked back-to-back as well.”

Honourable mention
Harry Sheezel (North Melbourne)

“I needed to mention Harry Sheezel.

“His performance was through the roof.”
