UPDATE: Carlton has confirmed to SEN.com.au that a laptop was stolen from Voss, but that it did NOT contain any sensitive club information
Carlton’s Michael Voss had his laptop stolen from outside his home on the weekend.
Hawthorn great and SEN’s Campbell Brown is reporting that the Blues coach momentarily left his backpack unattended out the front of his house prior to Sunday’s clash with North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.
He came back only to find that his belongings had been taken, according to Brown.
“It’s my understanding that on Sunday just before Michael Voss made his way into Marvel Stadium for the game against North Melbourne that his backpack with his laptop, his notes and some of his belongings was put down out the front of his house,” Brown said on SENTrack.
“He ducked back inside to get something and when he came back out it was gone, it was stolen.
“Michael Voss was robbed out the front of his house in Hawthorn. It’s no laughing matter, but I’m sure whoever did take it won’t be able to get into the laptop.
“It might be a reason why it was a bit of a slow start for the Blues on Sunday. Not ideal preparation leading into a game of footy and poor old ‘Vossy’ has got to get a new laptop now.”
For the record, the Blues trailed by 11 points at half-time but were eventually able to get up by 19 points despite going without the important information their coach had stored away on the laptop.
Voss’ side returned to second spot on the ladder ahead of this Friday night’s meeting with seventh-placed Port Adelaide.
