Dean Watling expects Tulsi to fire first-up at Randwick on Saturday.
The Matthew Dale-trained galloper races for the first time under his care this weekend and he brings some strong form lines from New Zealand.
The leading form analyst says this is one of the better bets he’s seen in some time and is buoyed by the booking of James McDonald.
“I think this is one of the better bets on the program,” Watling told SENTrack.
“I cannot believe the price, you look at the CV of this horse and I know it’s an interesting one being a former New Zealand galloper being trained by Matthew Dale as he’s not the metro trainer that you want to see for that but Matty Dale is a phenomenal trainer and the biggest tick for him is that he always has his horses ready to go fresh.
“He had one slick trial behind Just Fine, when you look at the CV back in New Zealand he ran second in a Group 1 behind Ulanova, he also has form around Quintessa, Molly Bloom and co.
“I think it’s a really sneaky set up here, I think this field is a little bit lacklustre here, I think Hi Dubai is the only progressive type with upside here but outside of that there’s not much upside.
“$6.50 about this horse from a good gate with a good jockey after a slick trial, I think this is one of the better bets I’ve seen for a good time.
“I’m really keen.”
Tulsi will jump from barrier eight with the favourite in the race Hi Dubai jumping from gate two for Tim Clark.
