Dwayne Russell believes no team has been more disappointing in 2024 than Gold Coast.

The Suns had high hopes this season after signing three-time premiership coach Damien Hardwick and setting out to play finals, but they haven’t reached their own expectations.

“The Suns told us they were going to make the finals, they put the heat on themselves and they were going to make the finals this year, but they haven’t delivered,” Russell told SEN's Dwayne's World.

“They’ve done what the Suns always do, and that is promise the world and deliver an atlas.”

The Suns have largely had a dream run with injuries so far in 2024, adding to the frustration.

“They’ve had the second least amount of games lost through injury, so they have been with a full list for the majority of the year, and yet here they are missing again,” he said.

The Suns, who are yet to play finals, are currently 13th on the ladder and are set to miss out on September action again in 2024.
