Your Home of Sport, In your Hand
Back for another week, the SEN.com.au team gives you an insight into how every game will play out across the weekend.
Labelling something a ‘certainty’ in any sport is fraught with danger.
But we’ll attempt to find some anyway.
Here is what we consider certainties for the eight remaining games in Round 22 across Saturday and Sunday.
Hogan to kick 2+ goals
Jesse Hogan is in supreme form.
The Giants forward has kicked 22 goals in his last five outings which has seen him take the lead in the Coleman Medal race.
When the Giants last met the Lions in Round 7, Hogan kicked 1.2 which is one of only four occasions he has kicked less than two majors in a game in 2024.
Given his rich vein of form and the fact the Giants are playing decent footy, we feel he’ll hit the scoreboard multiple times at the Gabba on Saturday afternoon.

Davies-Uniacke to have 25+ disposals
Luke Davies-Uniacke was electric against Richmond last week with 33 disposals and three goals.
He has put together a very impressive 2024 season and will be keen on helping guide the Kangaroos to another win when they meet West Coast.
‘LDU’ has had 25 or more touches in 15 of his 20 outings this season and we reckon he’ll go again.
He had 26 against the Eagles when they met earlier in the campaign and he should reach the 25-touch threshold in this meeting.

Jye Amiss kicks 2+ goals
With Josh Treacy out of action this weekend, all eyes will be on Jye Amiss to step up as the primary target.
The 21-year-old is in the midst of a solid season that has been overshadowed by Treacy’s meteoric rise, having kicked 33 majors so far.
Boasting multiple bags of four goals under his belt already this year, a big day out is never out of the question for Amiss, so snagging at least a pair is well within expectations.

B.King 2+ goals
Essendon struggled with Josh Treacy (three goals) and Jye Amiss (four goals) in last week’s tight win over Fremantle and you can expect the Suns to try and exploit them in the air in this game.
Gold Coast’s main man up front is clearly Ben King and he booted four majors the last time the sides met in Round 12.
King has also kicked 49 majors from 19 games in 2024 and he’s kicked two or more in 15 of those matches.
2+ should be no worries for the All-Australian hopeful on Saturday night.

__Alex Neal-Bullen 15+ disposals __
With Christian Petracca out of the side and Oliver’s lower numbers this season, Alex Neal Bullen should assist the Demons midfield this weekend.
Neal-Bullen has recorded 15 disposals in 17 of Melbourne’s last 18 matches.
The half-forward/midfielder has averaged 18.6 disposals this season which is the most he has averaged since 2017.
It would be a surprise if he fell below 15 disposals this weekend at the MCG.

Patrick Cripps to get 25+ disposals
The Carlton skipper seems to consistently perform in big games, and not many come bigger than this week's clash against Hawthorn as the Blues fight for their spot in the top eight.
Cripps has recorded 25 or more disposals in his last seven matches as he continues to put together a brilliant season.
Against a tough Hawthorn midfield, it feels likely that Cripps will spend majority of the match in the middle of the ground consistently collecting contested possessions.
Coming off an emphatic 33-disposal performance against Collingwood last week in a brutal loss, Cripps will be desperate to lift the Blues towards a much needed win.

Tim Membrey to kick a goal
Following a season ending knee injury to Max King, Tim Membrey has capitalised on the opportunity to be the predominant key forward for the Saints kicking a goal or more in four of his last five matches.
With St Kilda likely to put together a winning score against a wounded Richmond side, it feels likely that Membrey will find the scoreboard on at least one occasion.
Membrey averages 1.5 goals a game this season and should cruise over the one-goal mark on Sunday.

Jamarra Ugle-Hagan to kick 2+ goals
Since round 18, Ugle-Hagan has had a whopping 34 shots on goal scoring 14 majors.
With the Bulldogs' midfield at full strength, the athletic key forward should receive enough goal scoring opportunities to collect at least two goals.
Averaging 2.2 goals per game this season, the 22-year-old will likely be able to put together a strong performance against a struggling Adelaide backline.
